What can I say about Lois? She came to me with osteoporosis, kyphosis and a compound fracture of her T1 vertebrae. She was hunched over, crooked and remarked that she had shrank 2 inches. Very concerned for her well-being, I was hopeful I could help!
It occurred to me in looking at her that she needed not only core work, but emphasis on strengthening the muscles that support the structure of her upper spine. While I knew I couldn’t change the structure of that fracture (that, by the way, stuck out of her middle back like a small doorknob), I knew that by working with her, maybe we could at least get her out of pain. So, we embarked on a journey of fixing Lois, did a lot of work on that area and her results were remarkable.
After about 15 sessions, I began noticing a difference in her but didn’t say much. Then, she went to her doctor for a physical. They measured her and she had grown an inch back!!!
What?! That’s right, obviously I didn’t make her grow, but I did effect some change because her posture was better and she was standing taller. The doctor also noticed that her compound fracture was moving back into its proper place in the spine and wasn’t measuring the same distance out of her back. She was out of pain, strengthening herself, changing her posture and feeling great about herself again!
Lois works on herself with me two days a week, but she is always aware of the things she needs to be doing (i.e., N2S: navel to spine!) when she’s NOT with me that will affect change and keep her strong and healthy!
